About the role
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the fabrication of pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, piping spools, structural steel, and skid-mounted process modules.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and control daily, weekly, and monthly workshop production.
· Manage cutting, rolling, fit-up, welding, NDT, PWHT, hydrotesting, painting, assembly, and dispatch.
· Allocate manpower, machinery, cranes, tools, and workshop space effectively.
· Monitor progress, productivity, man-hours, material usage, and delivery schedules.
· Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, QC, Procurement, Stores, Projects, Maintenance, and Logistics.
· Ensure fabrication complies with approved drawings, WPS, ITP, project specifications, and applicable ASME requirements.
· Maintain material traceability and control NCRs, rework, welding repairs, wastage, idle time, and equipment downtime.
· Coordinate inspections with QC, clients, third-party inspectors, and the ASME Authorized Inspector.
· Enforce workshop safety, discipline, housekeeping, and safe lifting and testing practices.
· Lead supervisors, foremen, welders, fitters, fabricators, riggers, operators, and subcontract personnel.
· Identify production constraints and implement recovery plans to meet delivery targets.
Qualification & Experience
· Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or Fabrication Engineering.
· Minimum 12 years of heavy fabrication experience, including 5 years in a workshop management or senior production role.
· Strong experience in pressure vessels, piping, structural fabrication, and process skid modules.
· Good knowledge of ASME Section VIII, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, welding, NDT, PWHT, hydrotesting, dimensional control, and material traceability.
· Experience in an ASME code-stamped manufacturing facility is preferred.
· Strong leadership, planning, coordination, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
