NOVI Space, Inc. is a leader in delivering spacecraft, components, and services bringing high-end computing power to the orbital edge.
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team working at a fast pace to proliferate the next generation of intelligent embedded computing systems for spaceflight. You will be working on high-reliability software projects in all stages of development from conception to in-orbit operations with the goal of pushing the state of the art of computing in orbit forward. This includes the definition of requirements, implementation, testing, deployment and troubleshooting of embedded code.
In this fast-paced environment you will see your work go from concept to orbit in weeks to months, not years. In working with spacecraft safety, reliability and testing are at the core of our mission. We require a strong culture of software verification and configuration management.
The successful candidate should have a deep knowledge and proven track record of development, testing and deployment of embedded software on edge systems.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in embedded software development
- Proficiency with C/C++ and Python
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, multithreading, and multiprocessing
- Experience with embedded and real-time software development
- Experience targeting ARM MCU and embedded application processors
- Experience targeting bare metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux
- Experience with communication buses and protocols including, UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, and TCP/IP
- Proficiency with Git and other source control systems
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a small team environment
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Previous work on spacecraft or aerospace software
- Experience with FreeRTOS
- Knowledge AMD/Xilinx Zynq and Versal platforms
- Knowledge of PetaLinux, Yocto, and BitBake tools
- Work with Linux kernel modules and device drivers
- Applications of automated testing and continuous integration
- Experience integrating hardware for hardware-in-the-loop testing
- A strong desire to work in a fast-paced environment pushing the state-of-the-art forwards

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
