About the role
Social Media & Digital Content Specialist
We are looking for a creative, energetic and digitally savvy Social Media & Digital Content Specialist to help build and grow our brand across social media and digital platforms.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who understands social media beyond simply posting content. You should be able to come up with ideas, create content, follow trends, produce short-form videos and understand what makes people engage with a brand online.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in digital media, excellent communication skills and the ability to turn everyday business activities, products and ideas into engaging social media content.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute creative content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and other relevant platforms.
- Plan and maintain a consistent social media content calendar.
- Create engaging Reels, short-form videos, stories, carousels, graphics and other social media content.
- Develop creative concepts, scripts, captions, hooks and calls-to-action.
- Shoot and edit basic video content for social media.
- Stay updated with current social media trends, viral formats, trending audio, memes and emerging platforms.
- Identify opportunities to adapt relevant trends to the company's brand and industry.
- Maintain a consistent and professional brand image across all digital platforms.
- Write engaging and professional content in English.
- Monitor comments, messages and audience interactions and ensure timely responses.
- Research competitors and industry trends to identify new content opportunities.
- Track social media performance, engagement and audience growth.
- Analyse insights and use performance data to improve future content.
- Assist with digital marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
- Explore and use AI and other modern digital tools to improve content creation and productivity.
- Work closely with management and other departments to understand products, services and business objectives and convert them into engaging content.
- Take ownership of assigned content projects from idea → creation → publishing → performance analysis.
What We're Looking For
- 1+ year of experience in social media, digital marketing, content creation or a related field.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong creative thinking and the ability to generate original content ideas.
- Good understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Practical experience creating Reels, short-form videos and social media content.
- Basic knowledge of video editing and design tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe or similar platforms.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
- Good understanding of social media trends and audience behaviour.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics.
- Excellent attention to detail and visual presentation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple content requirements.
- Proactive, self-motivated and willing to learn.
- Comfortable experimenting with new ideas, platforms and content formats.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the wider team.
The Right Person
We are looking for someone who lives and breathes digital content.
You should be the type of person who notices a trending Reel, understands why it is working and immediately starts thinking about how it could be adapted for a business.
You don't need to know everything. Creativity, initiative and the willingness to learn are more important than having years of experience.
You should be comfortable picking up a phone to shoot a video, sitting down to edit it, writing the caption, publishing it and then checking the results.
Most importantly, you should be able to turn ideas into content.
Advantageous Skills
- Experience growing a social media account organically.
- Video shooting and editing skills.
- Photography skills.
- Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Meta Business Suite and Meta Ads.
- Experience with LinkedIn and B2B content.
- Basic understanding of digital advertising.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT and AI video/image/content creation platforms.
- Comfortable appearing on camera or directing others for video content.
- A portfolio or examples of previous social media work.
