Part-Time Nanny Needed for Engaged Care–New Canaan, CT

Warm, involved family seeking an experienced, reliable, and proactive part-time nanny to care primarily for 2-year-old daughter, with occasional support with our 7-year-old child.

Looking for someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with children and understands that quality childcare is about more than supervision. An ideal nanny actively participates in play, creates enriching activities, encourages learning and independence, and helps children develop important life and emotional skills through meaningful interaction.

Responsibilities

• Planning and leading age-appropriate activities, crafts, games, and learning opportunities
• Outdoor play, walks, library visits, playground outings, and community activities
• Supporting emotional development and teaching age-appropriate skills
• Meal and snack preparation for the children
• Light household tasks during nap time or downtime, including:
• Children's laundry
• Light meal preparation/cooking
• Tidying children's areas
• General household straightening

Schedule

Guaranteed minimum: 20 hours per week

Now through July 10 (while older child is in camp)

• 4 days per week: 12:00 PM–5:00 PM
• 1 day per week: 3:00 PM–5:00 PM
• Approximately 22 hours per week

July 13 through August 24 (summer schedule)

• 3 days per week: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• 2 days per week: 2:30 PM–5:00 PM
• Approximately 30.5 hours per week

August 24 through June (school-year schedule)

• 4 days per week: 12:00 PM–5:00 PM
• 1 day per week: 3:00 PM–5:00 PM
• Approximately 22 hours per week

Additional Opportunities

We would love to find someone who is also available for occasional additional hours, including:

• Staying until approximately 7:30 PM on occasion (roughly 2–3 times per month) when a parent is working late
• Weekend daytime hours a few times per month
• Occasional evening babysitting opportunities

These additional hours are optional but preferred.

Compensation

• $32 per hour
• Guaranteed weekly hours
• Additional paid hours available for interested candidates

Pay: $32.00 per hour
