Best Fit Summary
A warm, detail-oriented family in Fairfield County is seeking a dedicated Household Manager / Housekeeper to join their home on a part-time basis. This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in a well-run home — someone who arrives ready to work, knows how to prioritize, and brings a level of care and professionalism that makes a household hum. The family has two young children and two small dogs, and while the primary focus of this role is the home itself, the right person will feel comfortable around the whole family and easy in the environment they help maintain.
About the Family
This is a warm, active Fairfield County household raising two young children, in a home that is thoughtfully evolving alongside their family. Currently in the midst of a major renovation, the family is living intentionally within a smaller footprint while creating the home they have long envisioned. Two beloved dogs are part of the daily rhythm, and despite the ongoing construction, the household maintains a strong sense of pride, organization, and care. The atmosphere is busy, loving, and family-centered, with an appreciation for both the beauty and the realities of building something meaningful.
The Role (Day-to-Day Care)
- Daily tidying and upkeep of all active household areas — kitchen clean-down, dishes, general organization
- Rotating room-by-room cleaning schedule to ensure every area receives regular attention throughout the week
- Laundry management including sorting, washing, drying, and folding — with attention to care labels and household-specific protocols (silk pillowcases, delicate cycles, duvet rotations, etc.)
- Proactive appliance and home maintenance: descaling coffee machines, running cleaning cycles on dishwasher and washing machine, vacuuming fireplace ash after use
- Maintaining organizational systems throughout the home — closets, kids' clothing by category, household supplies — and returning items to their designated places consistently
- Light dog care: refreshing water bowls, letting dogs out to the backyard during working hours
- Occasional light child care support (school pickup, at-home supervision) if schedule requires — comfort around young children is important
- Building and maintaining a household schedule for recurring deep-clean tasks and seasonal upkeep
