About the Position
A professional Baltimore family is seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Nanny/Household Manager to care for their nearly 6-year-old son while helping maintain an organized and smoothly running household.
The family’s son is neurodivergent, highly intelligent, and thrives with consistency, structure, and routine. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of predictable schedules, be patient and nurturing, and enjoy helping a child succeed through supportive guidance and clear expectations.
This position combines childcare and household management responsibilities, making it perfect for a candidate who enjoys staying busy, taking initiative, and becoming an important part of a family’s daily life.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with 35 guaranteed hours per week.
Typical schedule includes:
- Arrive between 6:30 a.m. and 7:15 a.m.
- Assist with the morning routine
- School drop-off by approximately 8:45 a.m.
- Return to the home around 12:30 p.m. for household management duties
- School pick-up and transportation to after-school activities
- Parents typically return home between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Schedule details may vary slightly from week to week and will be communicated in advance.
Candidates must also be available to work one weekend approximately every 6–8 weeks.
Childcare Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care for a nearly 6-year-old boy
- Maintain structure, routine, and consistency throughout the day
- School drop-off and pick-up
- Transport child to extracurricular activities and appointments
- Support emotional regulation and independence
- Encourage learning, engagement, and age-appropriate development
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding schedules and daily updates
All driving is local and within approximately 15 minutes of the family’s home.
Household Management Responsibilities
- Meal preparation
- Family laundry
- Changing and laundering bedding
- General household tidying and organization
- Maintaining organized household systems
- Running household tasks during school hours
- Helping keep the home running efficiently and smoothly
Qualifications
- Previous professional nanny experience required
- Experience working with neurodivergent children strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Patient, calm, and nurturing personality
- Ability to maintain routines and follow schedules consistently
- Comfortable working in a physically active environment with multiple flights of stairs
- Valid driver’s license required
- Reliable personal vehicle required
- Current flu vaccination required
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
