Sync Brokerage is a dynamic and forward-thinking brokerage firm seeking a meticulous and organised Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and maintaining positive relationships with our suppliers. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our financial department, and we are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.



Responsibilities


As an Accounts Payable Specialist, your key duties will include:

* Processing a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

* Preparing and executing weekly and ad-hoc payment runs via BACS and other methods.

* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies or queries promptly.

* Managing the company's expense claim process, ensuring compliance with internal policies.

* Assisting with month-end closing procedures, including accruals and ledger reconciliations.

* Serving as the primary point of contact for all supplier payment-related enquiries.

* Maintaining organised and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

* Collaborating with internal departments to ensure proper coding and approval of invoices.

* Identifying opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function.



Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

* Proven experience working in a dedicated Accounts Payable role.

* A strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices.

* High proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel.

* Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

* Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

* AAT qualification or actively studying towards an accounting certification is desirable but not essential.
