About the role
We are looking for an experienced XR / Unity Developer to join our team and work on immersive, interactive, and technology-driven experiences across events, exhibitions, cultural projects, and brand activations.
The role will be responsible for developing real-time XR applications and interactive 3D experiences, from initial prototyping through to testing, optimisation, and final deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver real-time XR experiences using Unity, including applications for Meta Quest 3 and passthrough AR.
- Develop and maintain C# systems, including interaction mechanics, application architecture, performance optimisation, and device deployment.
- Manage the 3D production pipeline, including modelling, UVs, PBR materials, baking, LODs, shaders, and Unity optimisation.
- Create and implement custom visual effects using HLSL and shaders.
- Work closely with creative, UX/UI, and technical teams to translate project requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Support prototyping and proof-of-concept development for new technologies and interactive concepts.
- Identify technical challenges and provide effective solutions throughout the development process.
- Optimise applications for mobile GPU performance and ensure stable performance across target devices.
- Keep up to date with developments in XR platforms, SDKs, hardware, and emerging technologies.
- Support the integration of real-time data and multi-device communication for live events and interactive installations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in Unity development, with a portfolio demonstrating shipped XR, interactive, or real-time 3D projects.
- Strong programming skills in C# with experience developing structured and maintainable code.
- Hands-on experience developing and optimising applications for Meta Quest 3 or similar standalone XR devices.
- Strong understanding of 3D workflows, with practical experience using Blender or Maya.
- Good knowledge of PBR, UV mapping, LODs, baking, and real-time 3D optimisation.
- Experience with HLSL and custom shader development.
- Experience with AR Foundation, Vuforia, or spatial-anchor-based AR applications.
- Experience working with holographic display technologies, such as fan displays, holoboxes, transparent LCDs, or similar solutions.
- Experience with WebSockets, real-time data integration, or multi-device communication is required.
- Background in game development or real-time interactive applications is highly preferred.
- Experience delivering interactive installations or technology-based experiences within live events, exhibitions, or experiential environments is an advantage.
Nice to Have
- Experience with After Effects and alpha-channel content workflows for holographic displays.
- Previous experience working in a creative studio, experiential agency, or similar environment.
- Experience using AI tools to improve development workflows, prototyping, or asset creation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple technical requirements and deadlines.
