Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Remote Proofreader to join our team. In this role, you will review a variety of written materials to ensure they are free of spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, and typographical errors while maintaining consistency with brand guidelines and editorial standards. The ideal candidate has exceptional language skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Proofread documents, reports, articles, marketing materials, emails, presentations, and other written content before publication.
• Identify and correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting errors.
• Ensure consistency in tone, style, terminology, and formatting across all documents.
• Verify accuracy of names, dates, numbers, references, and hyperlinks when required.
• Review content for readability, clarity, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, designers, and project managers to resolve content issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting established deadlines.
• Follow company style guides and quality assurance standards.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve overall content quality.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred).
• Proven experience as a proofreader, copy editor, editor, or in a similar role.
• Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated remote workspace.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience proofreading digital content, websites, blogs, or marketing materials.
• Familiarity with style guides such as AP, Chicago, or MLA.
• Experience using editing and proofreading tools such as Grammarly or PerfectIt.
• Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
