Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position in Santa Barbara, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and CA licensure.

Details

• Work in a 20-bed Surgical ICU (SICU) with an average daily census of 17
• Adult patient population
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Self-scheduling with 12 weekend shifts required per contract
• On-call and floating are both required
• EMR system: Epic; additional unit systems include Omnicell and SBAR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a SICU or NICU setting required
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with multi-system organ failure, EVD, and post-neurosurgery patient management
• Experience caring for ventilated patients, including ventilator management and suctioning (ETT and NT)
• Experience with isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• COVID vaccination required
• Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
