Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience for a night shift position at a community hospital, with Level III NICU experience strongly preferred.
Details
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:00)
- Work settings include Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department
- Pediatric and nursery patient population experience preferred
- Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
Requirements
- RRT required; CRT will be accepted
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS certification required
- Valid RRT/CRT license required; license must be in hand prior to start
- Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care, and nasal/oral airway placement
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with nebulizer therapy, oxygen therapy, and sputum specimen collection
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform respiratory therapy services across adult critical care and emergency department settings
- Responsibilities include airway management, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and sputum specimen collection
- The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana; a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions — candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive test, including CBD products, prior to and upon arrival
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
- Required lab items must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or a completion plan must be in place within that timeframe
