We are seeking a diligent and highly organised Procurement Assistant to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual to support our mission-critical procurement functions in a dynamic and innovative scientific environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our scientific teams have the necessary supplies and equipment to drive groundbreaking research.



Responsibilities

* Assist the procurement team with the day-to-day purchasing of laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment.
* Create, process, and track purchase orders from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders, including scientists and laboratory managers, to understand their procurement needs and specifications.
* Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm order details, and resolve any shipment or invoicing issues.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities, including supplier information, pricing, and order history.
* Monitor stock levels of key supplies and assist in inventory management.
* Support the negotiation of terms with new and existing suppliers to secure advantageous conditions.
* Assist in preparing reports on procurement metrics, such as spending and supplier performance.



Qualifications

* Proven experience in a procurement, purchasing, or a similar administrative role.
* Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and external partners.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) or Google Workspace.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote setting.
* A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
* Experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or a related scientific industry is highly desirable but not essential.
* Familiarity with procurement software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems would be an advantage.
