Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to support applied research and innovation in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Aviation Analytics . The successful candidate will contribute to AI-driven research, data analytics, predictive modelling and decision-support solutions while collaborating on interdisciplinary research and industry projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Aviation Analytics.
• Develop, validate and deploy AI and data-driven models.
• Assist in the development of web-based or mobile applications for AI and analytics solutions.
• Collect, preprocess, manage and analyse large datasets from multiple sources.
• Develop analytical dashboards, databases and software applications to support research.
• Prepare research proposals, technical reports, journal publications and conference papers.
• Support the delivery of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Business Analytics modules through lectures, laboratory sessions, tutorials, workshops and student project supervision.
• Collaborate with faculty members, researchers and industry partners on funded research projects.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience

• Demonstrated research experience in Data Analytics, AI/Machine Learning, predictive modelling or applied research.
• Hands-on Experience in data-driven application development, software implementation or decision-support systems.
• Experience in preparing research publications, technical reports and grant/project proposals.
• Experience in teaching or supporting the delivery of undergraduate/postgraduate modules, laboratory sessions and workshops is desirable.
• Experience in collaborative research projects in aviation with industry or academia is desirable.

Required Skills

• Strong programming skills in Python and machine learning frameworks.
• Experience with database management, data engineering and analytical reporting.
• Knowledge of mathematical modelling, statistics, machine learning and optimisation techniques.
• Excellent research, technical writing, communication and presentation skills.

Desirable

• Knowledge of the aviation domain.
• Teaching experience in higher education or experience delivering AI, Data Science or Business Analytics modules.
• Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Office or similar visualisation tools.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Docker, Git, or MLOps.
