Overview
We are seeking a energetic and detail-oriented Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental care to children, ensuring a positive experience for every patient. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help foster healthy habits and confidence in our young patients while maintaining clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, including chairside assisting and handling dental instruments efficiently.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental equipment, instruments, and materials following infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental x-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring adherence to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records accurately using patient management software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support front desk responsibilities as needed
- This role may require coverage between our 2 locations (Manhattan/Brooklyn) as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a pediatric dentistry or general dentistry setting.
- Proficiency with with patient management software is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management.
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to infection control standards.
- Excellent understanding of dental equipment operation, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to pediatric patients.
- Certification in dental assisting or RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) preferred; additional certifications in infection control or radiography are advantageous.
