About the role
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Assist healthcare providers in documenting patient medical records in real-time
- Accurately and efficiently enter patient information, medical history, and examination findings into electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and complete documentation
- Prepare and organize patient charts for appointments and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Review and verify medical records for completeness and accuracy
- Obtain the patient's medical and medication history and document in EMR.
- Obtain and record a patient's vital signs
- Prepare patient for examination or treatment
- Assist the physician/physician assistant in performing the examination or treatment
- Ability to administer injections
- Ability to accurately withdraw medication to be administered
- Demonstrate the ability to use medical equipment for spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pump programmers. (where applicable)
- Participate in a comprehensive plan of care to meet the ongoing needs of the patient
- Basic knowledge of human anatomy & physiology and it's relation to the practice of pain management
- Perform administrative tasks such as typing, scheduling of appointments, and maintaining medical records, check in front desk duties, authorizations et al.
- Maintain professionalism and respect to patient privacy at all times
- Punctual and consistent attendance
- Possess excellent time management skills
- Ability to critically think and make appropriate decisions
- Maintain and clean rooms and equipment
- Restock supplies and take inventory of supplies needed
- Assist in other areas of the office (front/back) as needed.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with hospital procedures and protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately transcribe medical information
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers, patients, and other staff members
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Experience with taking vital signs, or administering medications is a plus
