Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our Dermatology Care team in Maple Grove, MN This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening. Clinic Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday: 6:45AM–5:00PM. NO WEEKENDS! This position is eligible for up to a $2,000 New Hire Sign On Bonus!
The Dermatology Clinic provides a wide range of comprehensive services in treating various skin conditions medically, surgically and cosmetically. We diagnose and treat skin cancers, skin conditions such as psoriasis/rashes/acne and provide cosmetic treatments through a variety of lasers/fillers/facial peels/Botox. Our team of providers, nurses, support staff and other health care professionals work together providing patients with quality dermatologic services to achieve healthy skin for life.
As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant delivers care as delegated by the physicians/authorized practitioner, or registered nurse (RN) to assigned patient populations or individual patients. Delegates care may include (but is not limited to): medication administration, vaccine administration, injections, phlebotomy (blood draws), assisting with sterile procedures, collecting vital signs.
Responsibilities
- Delivers care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN, to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
- Prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, patient/family preferences, provider schedule, in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner and other health care team members.
- Performs high and low risk technical procedures defined by the clinical setting includes medication and vaccine administration, specimen collection, assistance with CPR.
- Effectively communicates compliance and concerns to delegating physician/authorized practitioner/RN.
- Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patients.
- Documents care in the medical record.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a Medical Assistant Diploma with proof of completion of a 160-hour externship or
- Certified Medical Assistant American Associate of Medical Assistants or
- Medical Technologist American Medical Technologists
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
$22.96- $32.42 Hourly
