Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles and machinery, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. We are a family-owned business looking to expand our team. The position is from 8:00 am to 5:00pm Monday - Friday. Duties
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including oil changes, brake repairs, and tire services.
- Conduct DOT inspections.
- Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics.
- Repair air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely during repairs.
- Fabricate parts as needed using hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with advisors regarding vehicle needs.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in diesel engine repair.
- Proficiency in automotive repair techniques including air brake system repair, electrical, cooling system and driveline repairs.
- Familiarity with heavy truck operation and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read schematics for electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with welding for fabrication tasks.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as required in the role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
