Lead Cloud Engineer

For one of our clients in the financial services sector I'm looking for a highly skilled Lead Cloud Engineer . This key role is designed for an individual with a robust background in hybrid cloud strategies. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in managing secure, compliant on-premise to cloud migrations and contribute significantly to shaping the client's cloud infrastructure.

This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires on-site full-time commitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Manage Hybrid Environments: Design and oversee integrations between on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Lead Migrations: Direct on-prem to cloud migrations with a focus on minimizing business risk and operational disruption.
• Design Secure Solutions: Develop secure cloud landing zones and ensure effective networking and identity integration.
• Optimize Cloud Resources: Analyze and enhance cloud costs, performance, reliability, and security.
• Ensure High Availability: Maintain performance, resilience, and security in our cloud infrastructure.
• Manage Lifecycle Operations: Conduct capacity planning, patching, and upgrades for cloud services.
• Act as Technical Authority: Provide senior-level guidance on infrastructure and cloud decisions.
• Drive Automation Initiatives: Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and automation in cloud operations.
• Support CI/CD Pipelines: Facilitate modern application delivery through efficient CI/CD processes.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in IT infrastructure and cloud technologies, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in the financial services sector is mandatory.
• Migration Expertise: Experience owning and executing on-prem to cloud migration projects.

Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise in VMware virtualization platforms and enterprise networking.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud infrastructure (GCP) .
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) .
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation techniques.
• Skills in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python .
• Understanding of monitoring and logging platforms .
• Environment Experience: Comfortable working in regulated and audit-driven environments.
