Med-Ophthalmology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26004631)

A Research Tech II position is available in the Chen lab of the University of Pittsburgh, Ophthalmology Department. The research will focus on pharmacological studies of retinal degenerative diseases.

Qualification of candidate: BS in biological science or related major, with experience in animal work or histological experiments, quick learner of hands on experiments, organized, responsible team player. Willing to be working in a team and with collaborators.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.

Essential Functions

Duties include: maintaining the animal inventory, retinal histology, facilitating other lab members with routine lab works, and maintain lab orders, animal protocol and IBC protocol.

Physical Effort

Must be careful and organized, good vision for microscopic dissections and histological sections.
