Job Title: Health and Safety Officer

Reporting to: Security Project Manager

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

The Job

The successful candidate will be accountable for (but not limited to) the following:

• Ensure that the Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures, rules and regulations
• are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
• Preparing HSE plan and review the method statement for the project site
• Conduct HSE site survey and task based risk assessment and communication with project lead and employees.
• Organize HSE training as per the project approved training matrix
• Conduct safety Inspection (workplace, vehicles, equipment etc)
• Monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel health and safety.
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and provide corrective actions and prepare lessons learnt from incident
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to the project manager
• Advise and instruct on various HSE matters
• Monitoring the implementation of the HSE plan
• Conducting HSE internal audit & coordinating external Audits
• Issue Audit reports/ NC reports and Coordinate NC closure with responsible party
• Preparing toolbox talk and other HSE alters as appropriate and sharing with project team
• Preparing emergency action plan and conducting mock drill exercises
• Customer HSE feedback management (Collecting customer feedback & maintaining the data for analysis)
• Attend HSE meeting with project manager, client and the project team as required
• Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
• Assist the site teams and managers by recognizing hazards, seeking to minimize risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety and environmental standards
• Monitoring employees for wearing PPE and follow safe work procedures
• Ensure all equipment, appliances and machinery are checked for valid certifications and operators licenses as applicable

Selection Criteria

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in any field from a reputable university.
• Minimum of 5 years health and safety work experience in the service industry, leisure and hospitality sector, or travel and tourism.
• Possess relevant health and safety training certificates like NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, etc.
• Proven experience in ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
• Proficient in Computer Application line Google Workspace Effective communication skills, written and verbal
• Attention to detail
