Hughes Fire Equipment is growing and we have immediate openings for a Fire Truck Heavy Duty Mechanic. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will perform repairs on emergency vehicles with emphasis on electrical diagnostics and repair. You will troubleshoot problems specializing in fire apparatus, equipment, and emergency vehicles. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who takes pride in doing the job right and enjoys working in a small team of professional mechanics. Responsibilities of a Heavy Duty Mechanic:
- Specializing in electrical diagnostics and repair
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on fire and Ems apparatus and equipment
- Works with chassis, electrical, multiplex, hydraulic, water pumps, foam, with an emphasis on electrical
- Works in the shop
- Minor fabrication abilities
- Documents all repairs in business management system
- Communicates with manufacturers via email and phone to troubleshoot systems
- Communicates with customers and end users to resolve problems
- Works as part of a team to solve complex technical problems
Requirements of a Heavy Duty Mechanic:
- CDL required
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- Pass drug test and background check
- ASE in Automotive and/or heavy truck is a bonus

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
