About the role
QED Aero is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer. Previous engineering work experience is not required, but the candidate must have working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and GD&T. We will provide training on our products and processes.
This is a hands-on position. You will work in the Engineering Department and directly with technicians on the production floor. You must also be able to communicate clearly in English and Spanish.
Job Duties
- Create and revise 2D drawings using AutoCAD
- Create and revise 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks
- Apply GD&T correctly to engineering drawings
- Work directly with technicians to understand assembly and testing operations
- Create and update work instructions using written steps, drawings, and photographs
- Support prototype builds and testing
- Prepare bills of material and other engineering documents
- Help resolve problems found during assembly and testing
- Support Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks
- Understanding of GD&T
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Able to read and create mechanical drawings
- Comfortable working on the production floor
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using tools
- Dependable, organized, and willing to learn
- Interested in staying with the company and developing as an engineer
- Authorized to work in the United States
Candidates may be asked to complete a short AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and drawing interpretation exercise during the interview.
