Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
- Manage electronic medical records using EMR system Carestack, ensuring accurate documentation of patient histories, treatment plans, and medical coding.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and ensure a sterile clinical environment.
- Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during chairside assisting.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation with precision.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge is essential for effective communication and accurate record keeping.
- Preffered, Hands-on experience with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and infection control practices is required.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and the use of a 3D scanner will set candidates apart.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques ensures safe patient care.
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
