As a Client Services Representative (DSP) - Caregiver, you will learn the skills and coaching techniques to help other adults shape their lives into a picture they once only dreamed of in one of our newest locations, Clarinda, Iowa. The Client Services Representative (DSP) - Caregiver, is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care for those who reside in the AmeriServe International Residential Day Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide transportation to and from activities.
• Assist in the implementation of individual plans for individuals and behavior plan goals.
• Assist individuals in the pursuit of recreational, social and community activities based on their preferences and individual plans.
• Assist and encourage individuals in the establishment of social networks.
• Promote participation and involvement in community outings.
• Ensure each individual's rights are protected.
• Treat individuals with dignity and respect.
• Observe individuals for changes in behavior or health.
• Assist and encourage individuals to care for their immediate personal needs, such as toileting, washing their hands, and eating.
• Prepare meals based on individual needs and preferences.
• Teach individuals daily skills such as household chores, laundry, cleaning, and washing dishes as appropriate according to their individual plan.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School diploma required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license and provide proof of vehicle insurance
• Must successfully pass state-mandated background checks and pre-employment screening
• Must demonstrate the ability to read and write English at the level needed to read programmatic materials and provide written documentation as required
• Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with other people
