Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and business-minded HR Generalist to join our growing team. This is a hands-on HR role responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits and payroll coordination, HR compliance, and employee records.
In addition to traditional HR responsibilities, this role requires a strong ability to understand the businesses and industries we operate in. Our organization is involved in multiple technology-driven sectors, including data centers and high-performance computing (HPC), financial technology and exchange-related businesses, and artificial intelligence products and services.
The ideal candidate should be intellectually curious, commercially aware, and capable of quickly learning different business models, organizational structures, and technical roles. The HR Generalist will work closely with senior management and department leaders to understand each business unit's talent needs and help build teams that support the company's continued growth.
Additional Key Responsibilities
- Develop a working understanding of the company's different business units, including data center/HPC infrastructure, financial technology and exchange-related operations, and AI products and services.
- Partner directly with executives and department leaders to understand business objectives, organizational needs, and hiring priorities.
- Support recruiting across a wide variety of positions, including corporate, finance, operations, engineering, technology, compliance, product, and data center/site personnel.
- Develop an understanding of the qualifications and technical backgrounds required for different roles in order to effectively screen and evaluate candidates.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings with an understanding of both HR requirements and the underlying business needs of the position.
- Assist management with workforce planning and organizational structure as new business units, projects, and locations are developed.
- Stay informed about employment trends, talent availability, and compensation expectations within the technology, data center, fintech, and AI industries.
- Work with management to develop job descriptions, compensation structures, performance expectations, and career paths appropriate for different business units.
- Support the company's continued growth by identifying talent and organizational needs before they become operational bottlenecks.
Industry & Business Knowledge
The successful candidate is not expected to be a technical expert in every industry, but should demonstrate a strong willingness and ability to learn the businesses we operate in.
Knowledge or prior experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:
- Data centers, high-performance computing (HPC), digital infrastructure, energy infrastructure, construction, or engineering.
- Financial technology (FinTech), securities, trading platforms, exchanges, financial services, or regulated financial businesses.
- Artificial intelligence, software, SaaS, technology products, or technology startups.
- Recruiting technical and specialized professionals such as engineers, developers, product managers, compliance professionals, financial professionals, and operations personnel.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is more than an HR administrator.
The ideal candidate should be able to understand the business behind the people. We want an HR professional who can sit down with management, understand what a department or project is trying to accomplish, identify what type of talent is needed, and translate those business needs into effective recruiting and HR strategies.
You do not need to be an engineer, trader, or AI specialist. However, you should be comfortable learning technical concepts, asking the right questions, and developing enough industry knowledge to effectively recruit and support employees across different business units.
As the organization continues to grow, this position will have the opportunity to play an important role in building our teams, HR systems, organizational structure, and company culture.
