Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures.
- Assist dentists during various dental treatments, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental x-rays while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation as needed to support comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive measures.
- Maintain strict infection control standards by following dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention policies.
- Support administrative duties such as patient management software updates and coordinating appointment schedules with the dental reception team.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a busy dental clinic environment.
- Proficiency with dental software including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar patient management systems.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Familiarity with dental equipment operation, including 3D scanners, dental x-ray units, and other advanced imaging tools.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and sterilization procedures aligned with healthcare standards.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable to support young patients effectively.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care.
