Mechanical Engineer

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in Water & Irrigation.
• Professional engineering registration or certification (preferred where applicable).
• Experience in water infrastructure, irrigation systems, pumping stations, or utility projects.
• Knowledge of hydraulic principles, pump selection, and pipeline design.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, WaterGEMS, EPANET, or similar tools.
• Understanding of international standards such as AWWA, ASME, ISO, and relevant local codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for water supply, irrigation, drainage, and pumping projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and equipment schedules.
• Select and size pumps, valves, pipelines, filtration systems, and other mechanical equipment.
• Review and coordinate design documents with civil, electrical, and environmental engineering teams.
• Conduct hydraulic and mechanical analyses to optimize system performance.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
• Inspect equipment and systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Support procurement activities by evaluating vendors, reviewing technical submittals, and inspecting equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements.
